Role Overview
We are seeking a polite, courteous, and responsible Driver to join our team. In this key role, you will organise and facilitate a daily transport schedule tailored to the needs of our residents, providing safe, scheduled, and on-demand trips for shopping, places of interest, and medical appointments.
Key Responsibilities:
Facilitate daily transport schedules, providing friendly and reliable travel options for residents.
Collect and deliver items of equipment to and from the village using company vehicles.
Carry out scheduled vehicle checks, ensuring cleanliness, adequate fuel supply, and that all documentation, journey logs, and tax/MOT expiry tracking are up to date.
Report any vehicle defects immediately and ensure company vehicles are securely locked and alarmed when parked.
Key Requirements & Qualifications
Must hold a full, clean UK driving licence and have previous experience working in a customer-focused environment.
A polite, can-do approach with a natural ability to build trusting, reassuring relationships with vulnerable people.
Desirable: First aid trained, experience driving groups of people, or familiarity with wheelchair restraint systems and vehicle tail-lifts.
Note: Because we care for vulnerable people, a satisfactory DBS check is required (fully covered by the employer).
