Staff Nurse - Day Ward

Supportive Bridge Staffing & Recruitment is seeking a motivated Staff Nurse to join the newly opened Day Ward at a modern private hospital in York, UK. In this flexible bank role, you will deliver high-quality pre- and post-procedure nursing care to patients undergoing minor surgical and diagnostic procedures.

Working within a consultant-led environment, you will care for patients across a variety of specialties including cataract surgery, endoscopy, minor local anaesthetic procedures, pain clinics, and varicose vein surgery. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented Registered Nurse looking for flexible shift patterns within a supportive clinical team.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver evidence-based nursing care to day surgery patients, overseeing pre-assessment, admission, and post-procedure recovery.

• Work collaboratively with matrons, consultant surgeons, and interdepartmental teams to ensure seamless patient flow and continuity of care.

• Maintain accurate clinical records while ensuring strict compliance with patient safety standards and infection control policies.

Requirements

• Active professional registration with the NMC as a Registered General Nurse (RGN).

• Proven post-registration clinical nursing experience, preferably within a day surgery, endoscopy, or acute ward setting.

• Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills with a flexible approach to shift patterns.
