Supportive Bridge Staffing & Recruitment is pleased to assist our valued client in recruiting an experienced Band 6 Community Midwife to join their Spalding Community Midwifery Team. Based at Johnson Community Hospital within United Lincolnshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, this 12-month fixed-term/secondment position is a part-time role requiring 30 hours per week (including on-call coverage).
In this community-based role, you will deliver gold-standard, patient-centred care across the full pregnancy continuum. Managing your own caseload of patients in Spalding and surrounding areas, you will conduct antenatal and postnatal assessments, support intrapartum care (including home births), collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams, and advocate for women and their families throughout their maternity journey.
Role Description
As a Band 6 Community Midwife, you will manage an individual patient caseload, deliver comprehensive antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal care, support home birth choices, and collaborate across community health networks.
Key Responsibilities
Provide continuous, holistic midwifery care across antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal periods within home and community settings.
Manage an active patient caseload, perform routine clinical monitoring, interpret diagnostics, and identify and manage safeguarding or clinical risk concerns.
Participate in the community on-call rota, facilitate home births, and maintain clear clinical documentation in accordance with NMC standards and Trust policies.
Requirements
Active registration as a Registered Midwife with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) and a Diploma or Degree in Midwifery.
Minimum of 6 months post-Band 6 midwifery experience with up-to-date clinical competencies across all spheres of midwifery.
Valid full driving licence with daily access to a personal vehicle with business insurance for community travel across Lincolnshire.
