Position: Despatch Service Operative (Despatch Materials Handler) - Nights
Location: Manton Wood, Worksop (Home to a team of around 1,700 colleagues producing sandwiches and wraps for major UK retailers including Co-op, Asda, Morrisons, Boots, Aldi, and Lidl)
Pay Rate: £15.50 per hour (Overtime paid at time-and-a-quarter after 48 hours)
Job Type: Permanent - Full-Time
Shift Pattern: Alternating Wednesday to Saturday, 17:30 – 05:30

As a supportive bridge staffing agency, we are proud to partner with Greencore (following their combination with Bakkavor) to find dedicated logistics and operations talent. Greencore is one of the UK’s leading convenience food creators, employing over 28,000 colleagues across 36 manufacturing sites and 21 distribution depots.
At their major Manton Wood site, we are currently seeking an active and organized Despatch Service Operative for the night shift to bridge the gap between production and storage, ensuring packaging is fully supplied and finished goods are expertly chilled and tracked. (Note: This is a physical role involving some heavy lifting.)
Key Responsibilities
Line Supply & Setup: Ensure production lines are fully prepped with correct packaging, trays, cages, printed labels, and operating tape machines to keep lines moving smoothly.
Chilling & Stock Management: Move finished products from production lines to blast chills, book stock in using JBA guns, and complete essential traceability paperwork (temperatures, times, use-by dates).
Movement & Stock Control: Use hand pallet trucks to transport materials and finished goods, count stock levels, and transfer chilled items to pick areas for palletisation and despatch.
What We Are Looking For
While full training is provided and similar food/warehouse experience is desirable, we are looking for candidates with:
Core Skills: Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English, combined with a basic level of maths for counting stock and operating handheld scanners.
Attributes: High attention to detail for accurate traceability paperwork, the ability to work well under pressure, and a strong team-player mindset.
