Role Overview

As a 7.5 Tonne Driver / Loader based in Basingstoke, you will provide a complete waste and recycling service on behalf of local residents and the wider community.

Working alongside a professional, dedicated, and friendly refuse collection team, you will be the public face of our environmental services, ensuring streets, homes, and businesses are kept clean, safe, and tidy while delivering exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

• Vehicle Operation: Drive 7.5T vehicles safely and carry out various refuse and recycling services, including bulky collections, bin deliveries, and food waste rounds.

• Pre-Use Checks: Ensure comprehensive vehicle safety checks are completed before setting out and that your truck is clean and work-ready.

• Flexible Support: Be prepared to undertake alternative duties when your primary vehicle is off the road—such as driving 3.5T vans for bin deliveries or bulky collections, or supporting non-driving loading roles.

• Community Representation: Act as a friendly, professional public face for the service team, going the extra mile to help your team hit their targets.

Requirements:

• Licences & Documentation: Hold a valid C1 driving licence, alongside an up-to-date Driver CPC and Tacho Card.

• Physical Fitness: Physically fit and healthy, well-suited to the active nature of waste and recycling collections.

• Work Ethic: Highly enthusiastic, hard-working, and resilient, with a strong team-player mentality.

• Vetting Requirement: Standard onboarding and employment checks apply.
