Supportive Bridge Staffing Agency is thrilled to partner with Five Rivers Child Care Ltd to recruit an innovative and dynamic Stepping Stones Lead Teacher for our unique outdoor provision based in Landford Wood on the edge of the New Forest. Our Stepping Stones program is designed for children and young people who have experienced limited success in formal education or struggled in traditional specialist settings.
Set within a unique site comprising two cabins, toilets, showers, an office, and a kitchen, this role requires a creative "spark" to develop and promote a bespoke, practical, and inclusive educational "offer." You will make the absolute best of our stunning natural surroundings, driving areas such as the arts, life skills, and outdoor learning to boost confidence, self-esteem, and positive outcomes.
Working alongside the Head of The Spires (our parent school in Salisbury), you will ensure the highest standards of teaching and learning, lead a team of Learning Support staff, implement outreach improvement plans, and deploy a trauma-informed, therapeutic approach to reduce barriers to learning.
Provision Development: Design, develop, and deliver a creative, non-traditional curriculum that harnesses our unique outdoor setting at Landford Wood.
Leadership & Management: Provide effective line management to Learning Support staff, ensuring secure, high-quality teaching and learning across the school's age range.
Assessment & Tracking: Establish robust baseline, assessing, and tracking frameworks for both traditional and non-traditional learning programs.
Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with internal colleagues, clinical teams, parents, external critical friends, and Local Authority SEN teams.
Safeguarding & Compliance: Maintain robust safeguarding and child protection standards, bringing experience with Ofsted inspection processes and a solution-focused approach to operational challenges.
Qualifications: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or NQT status.
Experience: Significant, evidenced experience working with children with Social, Emotional, Behavioural (SEMH/SpLD), and additional needs, alongside proven leadership experience in a special education setting.
Safeguarding & Ofsted: Demonstrated experience in safeguarding, child protection, and navigating Ofsted inspection frameworks.
Mobility & Compliance: A valid UK driving licence (essential) and the Right to Work in the UK.
