Key Responsibilities

• Support the catering function in food preparation and maintain a pristine, clean environment for the safe production of meals and beverages.

• Understand and apply the principles of safe food handling to guarantee all kitchen tasks adhere to the highest standards of hygiene.

• Contribute fully to team working, respond positively to colleagues, and action all reasonable work instructions promptly.

• Advise on the supply and quality of items used, ensuring the timely and appropriate ordering of replacement goods.

• Act courteously and respectfully toward residents and visitors, upholding the dignity and individuality of each person.

Person Specification & Requirements

• Qualifications & Standards: Must hold a Basic Food Hygiene Certificate and demonstrate high standards of personal hygiene.

• Knowledge & Skills: Sound knowledge of Health and Safety regulations (particularly Moving and Handling techniques, Fire Safety, and COSHH assessments).

• Core Qualities: An efficient worker capable of sustained physical effort, able to handle a demanding workload with initiative, flexibility, and a caring, understanding attitude toward residents.

• Values: Full alignment with Avery's core values of being caring, supportive, honest, respectful, and accountable.

• Compliance: Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check required (cost met by Avery Healthcare) alongside proof of eligibility to work in the UK.
