We are currently recruiting an enthusiastic and hands-on Duty Manager to join the team at The Weald Sport Centre on behalf of Leisure Solutions Community Trust (LSCT).
In this vital role, you will lead the day-to-day operations of the centre, helping to create a safe, clean, friendly, and welcoming environment where the local community can enjoy active, healthy lifestyles. Your leadership will directly support visitor wellbeing, team development, and commercial success.
As a Duty Manager, your responsibilities will include:
Health, Safety & Compliance: Lead on health and safety compliance, maintain safe working systems, and take charge during incidents and emergencies.
Operational Leadership: Oversee daily activities, including opening/closing the facility, managing rotas, and ensuring programmes run smoothly.
Commercial Performance: Drive sales activity, member retention, and exceptional customer service standards.
Team Coaching: Lead, coach, and develop colleagues to ensure consistent high performance and growth across the team.
Facility Standards: Proactively monitor the centre to maintain high standards of cleanliness, safety, and presentation while supporting lifeguarding duties as required.
Experience: Proven experience in leisure, hospitality, or retail management, ideally with a lifeguard background and previous supervisory experience.
Core Skills: Strong understanding of health and safety practices, commercial awareness, and excellent organisational and interpersonal abilities.
Qualifications: A confident swimmer with a valid National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ) and National Pool Plant Operators certificate (or training can be provided).
Attitude: A proactive, hands-on approach with a genuine passion for delivering exceptional customer service.
An Enhanced DBS check is required for this role (covering spent and unspent convictions, cautions, and relevant police information in accordance with safeguarding requirements). Candidates will also complete an Occupational Health Questionnaire to ensure appropriate support is provided.
