About the Role
We are recruiting a dedicated and enthusiastic Catering Assistant on a permanent basis on behalf of St Mary’s Hospital in Warrington—a specialist facility providing mental health and Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) rehabilitation for adult men, alongside an acute mental health ward.
Working 37.5 hours a week alongside an established, dedicated kitchen team, you will report to the Head Chef to assist with food preparation, maintain high hygiene standards, manage stock rotation, and serve meals to service users, staff, and visitors. You will also have the opportunity to liaise with the wider multidisciplinary team, including dietitians, to support tailored nutritional care plans.
What You Will Need
Experience: Previous experience working within a similar kitchen or catering role.
Knowledge: Basic understanding of COSHH, HACCP, and food safety standards.
Skills: Basic numeracy, literacy, and strong communication skills. A relevant catering qualification is desirable.
Attributes: A passion for food, a collaborative team-focused approach, and a genuine commitment to supporting a safe, therapeutic environment.
Proximity & Availability: Living within a manageable commute of Warrington (WA2 8DB).
