Support Bridge Staffing Agency is proud to partner with essential defence and public service organisations to connect compassionate professionals with meaningful roles. We are currently recruiting a dedicated Families and Welfare Lead Administrator to join our defence team at the Defence Academy in Shrivenham.
In this varied and rewarding role, you will provide essential administrative and secretarial support that helps service families access welfare services and community support. Your work will ensure the smooth operation of the Families and Welfare Office and the Jubilee Community Centre (JCC), creating a positive, welcoming environment where people feel supported, connected, and able to thrive.
First Point of Contact: Act as the friendly, professional first point of contact for visitors and inquiries within the Families and Welfare Office and Jubilee Community Centre.
Event & Function Coordination: Organize and assist with office functions, coffee mornings, and community events, including annual and ad hoc Meet and Greet sessions.
Administrative & Secretarial Support: Provide comprehensive admin support to welfare teams, including efficient diary management, correspondence handling, and document processing.
Centre Bookings & Activities: Coordinate bookings, community activities, facility hire arrangements, and welfare communications (including noticeboards).
Practical & Operational Support: Assist with the movement of furniture and welfare stores within the JCC, including setting up and clearing down for groups and classes. Provide cover in the absence of the Families and Welfare Specialist Co-ordinator.
Experience: Previous practical experience in a welfare, customer service, administration, or secretarial environment.
Organizational Skills: Strong organizational abilities with the capacity to manage multiple priorities and work independently.
Technical Proficiency: Confident user of Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, and PowerPoint.
Communication & Discretion: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a professional approach to handling sensitive, confidential information.
