As Northern LGPS enters an exciting transformation phase to establish a new FCA-authorised investment management company, we are seeking a proactive and experienced Interim HR Generalist for a 9-month fixed-term contract. Working closely with the Head of HR, you will play an essential role in establishing the HR function, supporting colleagues through transition, and implementing the people processes, policies, and systems needed for long-term success.
As Interim HR Generalist, you will contribute across the full employee lifecycle, driving people operations and regulatory alignment. Key responsibilities include:
Regulatory Compliance & SMCR: Supporting compliance with the Senior Managers and Certification Regime (SMCR), coordinating vetting activities, and maintaining regulatory documentation.
Employee Relations & Advisory: Managing employee relations cases (including grievances, performance, and conduct matters) and providing trusted advice to managers.
Policies & Onboarding: Researching and implementing HR policies, and designing engaging induction programmes for both TUPE transfers and new starters.
Talent & Development: Supporting recruitment activity, coordinating mandatory training, and assisting with apprenticeship, graduate, and early careers programmes.
Payroll & Administration: Preparing accurate payroll data, collaborating with payroll providers, and maintaining HR systems and intranet resources.
We are looking for a versatile HR professional who thrives in a fast-paced, changing environment. You will bring:
Proven experience in generalist HR advisory, operational support, and employee relations case management.
Strong background in HR policy development, recruitment, onboarding, and engagement.
Familiarity with HR compliance, governance, and regulatory frameworks.
Excellent relationship-building, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
