Looking for a fantastic work-life balance without the long hours and split shifts of traditional restaurant kitchens? Partnering with Barchester Healthcare, Supportive Bridge Staffing Agency is seeking a qualified and passionate Bank Chef to provide flexible cover between Ross Court Care Home and Tewkesbury Fields Care Home.
In this casual, part-time role, you will work with fresh, seasonal ingredients to deliver hotel- and restaurant-standard dining, creating nutritious, flavoursome menus tailored directly around our residents.
Pay Rate: £18.00 per hour
Hours: Bank / As and when required (Casual flexible role requiring cover across two homes)
Shifts: Days (Includes alternate weekends)
Closing Date: 2 September 2026
Key Responsibilities
Help manage the kitchen in the Head Chef’s absence, ensuring smooth daily operations.
Prepare wholesome, high-quality dishes using fresh seasonal produce cooked to top industry standards.
Assist in leading, inspiring, and motivating the kitchen team.
Collaborate directly with residents to design balanced, appetizing menus suited to their preferences.
Manage stock control, work within budgets, and complete regular compliance and HACCP audits.
Foster a warm, efficient, and fun environment within the kitchen and dining rooms.
What We Are Looking For
A relevant professional qualification (City & Guilds, NVQ/SVQ or equivalent).
Proven experience working with fresh, seasonal ingredients.
Experience in helping lead and inspire a kitchen team.
A solid understanding of nutrition and HACCP regulations.
