Position Overview

• Role: Principal Engineer C&I – System Integration (Integration, Verification and Validation)

• Location: Barrow-in-Furness or Filton – Flexible hybrid working pattern (approx. 2 days on-site every second week)

• Salary: Circa £55,000 per annum (Relocation support packages available, subject to eligibility)

About the Role

Shape and develop the Integration IV&V capability for highly complex integrated systems within the SSN AUKUS Platform Complex Systems domain! As a staffing partner, Supportive Bridge Staffing Agency is proud to recruit for this high-impact Principal C&I Engineer position on behalf of BAE Systems.

You will oversee the delivery of integration capabilities and infrastructure, ensuring early Integration, Verification, and Validation (IV&V) can be conducted to substantiate and provide evidence for system and subsystem integrated designs across the V-Model lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Control Systems Application: Apply control system expertise to support the design, integration, and delivery of complex systems, analyzing test data interfaces to guarantee compatibility.

• Test Infrastructure: Develop off-boat integration test infrastructure for Platform Complex Systems, including third-party interface testing.

• Simulation & Plant Environments: Design and integrate Sim/Stim plant environments and connect them to applicable system reference sets.

• Lifecycle & Documentation: Demonstrate a solid understanding of the full engineering lifecycle while producing clear technical documentation to support engineering strategies and assurance.

What We Are Looking For

• Educational Background: BEng (Hons), MEng, or equivalent practical experience in an engineering discipline or Control & Instrumentation (C&I).

• Core Knowledge: Robust understanding of the full engineering lifecycle, control systems, system integration, and fieldbus technologies.

• Facility Development: Exposure to facilities development ranging from initial concept through to building and commissioning.
