Position: Cook / Bank Cook
Location: The Cedars Care Home, High Street, Purton, SN5 4AF (Situated off the High Street in the charming village of Purton, overlooking beautiful countryside and gardens)
Pay Rate: £13.62 per hour (Monday–Friday) | £14.02 per hour (Weekends)
Contract Type: Bank / Flexible (0 Hours - Bank shifts covering annual leave and sickness)

As a supportive bridge staffing agency, we are partnering to recruit an experienced and passionate Bank / Relief Cook for The Cedars care home in Purton. Providing devoted, personalised respite and residential care for 49 residents, The Cedars is a bright and charming home where nutrition plays a vital role in resident wellbeing.
As our Cook, you will lead the catering team in delivering delicious, high-quality meals and snacks without the anti-social hours and split shifts often found elsewhere in hospitality! You will get to know our residents and their families personally, accommodating special dietary requirements and individual preferences to ensure every mealtime is a highlight of the day.
Meal Preparation: Prepare, cook, and present nutritious, high-quality meals and snacks for residents, catering to specialist diets and personal preferences.
Nutritional Standards: Oversee kitchen operations with a strong focus on nutrition, food hygiene, and safety regulations.
Resident Engagement: Build friendly relationships with residents and families to understand their likes, dislikes, and dietary needs.
Team Collaboration: Work alongside the wider care and catering team to ensure smooth, efficient kitchen operations.
Experience & Qualifications: Previous professional kitchen experience cooking for large groups and catering for specialist diets, backed by a Basic Food Hygiene Certificate (working towards or holding a Level 2 Diploma in Food Production and Cooking is a great bonus!).
Personality: A positive, professional, and enthusiastic individual who takes immense pride in their culinary creations.
Communication: Excellent communication skills with a friendly approach to interacting with elderly residents and colleagues.
Competitive Pay: £13.62 per hour Mon–Fri, increasing to £14.02 per hour on weekends.
