Join the specialist multidisciplinary team at Adderley Green in Stoke-on-Trent. In this leadership and clinical role, you will manage a complex caseload of residents, deliver high-quality, person-centred communication and swallowing interventions, and guide clinical practice within an established neurological rehabilitation service.

What You Will Be Doing

• Take full personal, professional, and legal responsibility for your own specialist caseload, carrying out detailed communication and swallowing assessments (including formal and informal tools, perceptual analysis, and in-depth language assessments).

• Provide clear, compassionate explanations of complex communication, voice, and swallowing difficulties to residents, families, and carers.

• Manage complex swallowing programmes—including PEG feeding—collaborating closely with nursing teams, kitchen staff, and visiting dietitians to ensure safe practice and optimal nutrition.

• Assess the need for communication aids, supporting residents and carers in their safe and effective use.

• Lead communication-focused therapeutic groups, train therapy assistants and care colleagues, and collaborate with Psychology teams on complex capacity issues.

• Directly supervise and support staff, ensuring professional lines of accountability and strict adherence to hospital policies.

Key Skills & Qualifications

• Current registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).

• Proven experience managing a clinical caseload involving the assessment and treatment of dysphagia.

• Experience working directly with families and carers in a healthcare or rehabilitation environment.

• Clear evidence of ongoing Continuing Professional Development (CPD).

• Strong motivational, negotiation, and problem-solving skills with excellent multidisciplinary teamwork abilities.

Adderley Green is a specialist inpatient neurological rehabilitation and complex care service in Stoke-on-Trent for adults over 18 with complex neurological conditions, acquired brain injuries, and spinal cord injuries.
