About the Role
Supportive Bridge Staffing Agency is proud to partner with The Ridgeway Hospital in Swindon—part of Circle Health Group, Britain's leading independent healthcare provider—to recruit an organized Pathology Coordinator for their Pathology department.
This is a permanent, full-time position working 37.5 hours a week on a flexible shift pattern. In this key role, you will oversee the day-to-day coordination of pathology services, ensuring the efficient, timely, and accurate processing of diagnostic tests while serving as the primary point of contact for clinical staff and external laboratories.
Key Responsibilities
Service Coordination: Oversee the daily operations of pathology services to guarantee the prompt and accurate handling of diagnostic tests.
Laboratory Liaison: Collaborate closely with internal hospital departments and external laboratories to manage test requests, sample collections, and result reporting.
Query Management: Act as the first point of contact for all pathology-related enquiries from consultants, clinical staff, and lab providers.
Compliance & Safety: Ensure strict adherence to sample handling protocols, infection prevention standards, and relevant health and safety procedures.
System Administration: Utilise pathology IT platforms and hospital record systems to accurately log, track, retrieve, and monitor test requests and results.
Inventory Control: Monitor stock levels of sample kits, pathology consumables, and courier supplies, reordering efficiently as required.
Candidate Requirements
Experience: Previous professional background gained within a healthcare, laboratory, or diagnostic services environment.
Core Competencies: Strong administrative and organisational skills, high attention to detail, and the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills with the capability to liaise professionally with both clinical and non-clinical colleagues.
Foundational Knowledge: Basic understanding of medical terminology and diagnostic clinical processes.
