As a Warehouse Maintenance Operative, you will keep Lidl’s distribution centre and stores ticking along nicely by looking after vital equipment, machinery, fixtures, and fittings. From problem-solving mechanical faults and servicing fleets to acting as a health and safety champion, your flexible approach to shifts will provide a workplace full of variety, fresh challenges, and rewarding responsibilities.
Core Responsibilities:
Fleet & Equipment Servicing: Continually manage, repair, and service equipment, updating service schedules and maintenance records accurately.
Breakdown Resolution: Swiftly troubleshoot issues and fix breakdowns to support all departments across the warehouse team.
Mechanical Handling Equipment (MHE): Perform fault-finding and problem-solving on a wide range of MHE.
Contractor Collaboration: Work alongside and collaborate with external contractors to execute complex maintenance tasks safely and efficiently.
Health & Safety Culture: Follow and actively encourage good working practices, serving as the go-to health and safety guru on site.
To excel in this vital maintenance role, you should bring a strong technical background, a positive mindset, and acute attention to detail:
Technical Confidence: Proven confidence working with mechanical equipment, including PPTs (Powered Pallet Trucks), LLOPs (Low Level Order Pickers), and FLTs (Forklift Trucks).
Repair & Maintenance Skills: The ability to operate, repair, and maintain machinery and existing fleet assets within a busy warehouse.
Tool Proficiency: Practical expertise utilizing standard hand tools and specialist lifting equipment safely.
Personal Drive: High levels of motivation, a positive "can-do" attitude, and strong initiative.
Organizational Flair: A natural flair for multi-tasking to prioritize conflicting deadlines with an eye for detail in a high-pressure environment.
