About the Role

As the Clinical Lead, you will work closely with the Home Manager and Deputy Manager to oversee clinical excellence and manage team performance. This is a hands-on, day-based leadership role where you will drive clinical governance, manage medication systems, and supervise quality care delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

• Team Leadership & Mentorship: Lead, coach, and inspire the clinical and care teams. Supervise training and performance, serving as a key role model and mentor for junior colleagues.

• Clinical Oversight: Maintain overall responsibility for care plans and medication management, utilising the Person Centred Software (PCS) system.

• Management Support: Assist the Home Manager with audits, CQC preparation, inspections, and administrative tasks. Step up to manage clinical operations and work as Nurse in Charge when required.

• Clinical Governance: Lead clinical governance meetings, uphold safety regulations, and manage clinical policy frameworks.

• Collaborative Care: Liaise closely with GPs, Multi-Disciplinary Teams (MDTs), and families to ensure holistic support (physical, emotional, and spiritual) for our residents.

• Complex Care Management: Champion dementia and complex care services, ensuring that safeguarding procedures and associated paperwork are meticulously maintained.

What You Will Need to Succeed

We are looking for a highly skilled nurse who couples strong clinical decision-making with natural leadership abilities.

• Qualifications & Registrations:

  • A nursing qualification recognized by the UK NMC.

  • A valid UK NMC PIN (RGN, RMN, or RNLD).

• Experience & Skills:

  • Essential: Proven experience working in a nursing home environment.

  • Essential: Strong experience leading clinical/care teams and managing performance.

  • Solid understanding of Person Centred Software (PCS), clinical audits, and CQC requirements.

  • Hands-on clinical skills including syringe driver management, catheterisation, taking bloods, peg feed, and stoma care.

  • Deep understanding of the Mental Capacity Act (MCA), Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS), and Safeguarding protocols.

• Attributes:

  • Outstanding communication, delegation, and coaching skills.

  • Flexibility to work different shifts and a proportion of Bank Holidays, as necessary.

  • Physical capability to assist residents with mobility.

  • Willingness to undergo an enhanced DBS check.
