As a Warehouse Operative (Distribution & Recycling) for the upcoming state-of-the-art Leeds RDC opening in April 2027, you’ll help keep warehouses running smoothly, making sure stock is sent to the correct stores efficiently and in good condition. From counting pallets to loading trailers, your energy will help drive operations forward.
To ensure you are fully prepared and empowered for launch day, your journey will include comprehensive, paid hands-on training prior to the site opening:
Neighbouring Regional Training: Gain initial operational experience across neighbouring regional sites (Doncaster, Runcorn, Newton Aycliffe). A dedicated daily coach service will be provided by Lidl (travel time included in working hours).
Luton RDC Training: Spend time mastering our newest, cutting-edge Warehouse Management System (EWM) at Luton—Lidl's largest RDC.
Key Responsibilities:
Outbound Operations: Maintain outbound lanes by ensuring pallets are stable and in the right place every time; accurately load standing trailers.
Controlled Environments: Work in temperature-controlled environments (such as freezers and chillers).
Collaboration & Systems: Communicate with drivers and colleagues, update driver debriefs using systems like Quintiq and SAP EWM, and support truck fill by picking bulk pallets.
Administration & Support: Assist the Goods Out dispatch desk and other departments (such as Recycling or Goods Issue) when needed.
Housekeeping: Support high operational standards with a clean-as-you-go approach while operating machinery safely.
Experience: Experience working in a fast-paced, target-driven environment.
Adaptability: A willingness to work with all types of stock indoors, outdoors, or in chilled areas.
Autonomy & Responsibility: The ability to work independently, taking full responsibility for your tasks.
Training Flexibility: Flexibility and willingness to travel for off-site training (Doncaster, Runcorn, Newton Aycliffe, and Luton).
Attention to Detail: Good attention to detail, even when working quickly, alongside a positive can-do attitude.
Competitive Pay: £13.80 - £14.45 per hour, with additional shift premiums (£2.00 per hour for bank holidays and £3.50 per hour for nights).
Holiday Allowance: 30–35 days’ holiday (pro rata).
Perks & Discounts: 10% in-store discount and an exclusive gym discount.
Growth & Support: Contributory pension scheme, enhanced family leave, comprehensive pre-opening training, and clear pathways to progress your career.
