Barchester is seeking a qualified Bank Chef to join the culinary team at Mount Tryon Care Home. In this flexible role, you will provide essential casual cover while enjoying a fantastic work-life balance—delivering hotel and restaurant standards using fresh, seasonal food without the grueling split shifts and long hours of standard hospitality roles.
Key Responsibilities
Culinary Excellence: Prepare high-quality, wholesome dishes using fresh seasonal produce, ensuring compliance with top standards and HACCP guidelines.
Menu Collaboration: Assist the Head Chef in creating nutritious, well-balanced menus and work directly with residents to tailor meals around their preferences.
Kitchen Leadership: Help manage the kitchen in the Head Chef's absence, leading and motivating the team.
Operations: Help manage stock control, work within budgets, and complete regular audits while fostering a warm, efficient, and fun kitchen environment.
About You
To thrive as a Bank Chef, you will bring:
A City & Guilds / NVQ / SVQ or equivalent professional chef qualification.
Proven experience working with fresh, seasonal food and a solid understanding of nutrition and HACCP.
Experience in helping lead and inspire a kitchen team.
A personable, warm approach with a genuine interest in resident wellbeing.
