The Harbour Hospital is seeking a flexible Healthcare Assistant to join their dynamic team in the Theatre department on a bank basis. This is an "as and when required" role designed to supplement staffing levels during busy periods and provide essential cover during staff absences or annual leave.
Working hours are Monday to Friday (between 7:30 AM–6:00 PM or 8:00 AM–8:00 PM), featuring the added benefit of weekly pay.
Patient Care: Deliver safe and effective care across the theatre department, supporting patients empathetically throughout their entire surgical pathway while alleviating anxiety.
Theatre Preparation: Prepare theatres for procedures, including equipment checks, stock preparation, and maintaining a clean, ready environment.
Patient Movement: Support the safe movement and positioning of patients pre- and post-operatively under the direction of registered practitioners.
Communication & Coordination: Communicate effectively with the multidisciplinary team, contributing to smooth handovers and coordinated, patient-centred care.
Experience: Previous experience working in a clinical or healthcare support role.
Attributes: Good verbal and written communication skills with a compassionate, patient-centred approach.
Development: A strong willingness to undertake training and competency development in theatre-specific care.
Knowledge: Sound understanding of infection control, safeguarding, and basic health and safety principles.
