Location: Mount Vale Care Home, Yafforth Road, Northallerton, DL7 8UE
Pay Rate: Up to £15.66 per hour
Employment Type: Bank (Casual, part-time with flexible working hours to cover needs such as annual leave or sick leave)
Shift: Days (with alternate weekends)

Working as a Bank Chef through our supportive bridge staffing agency on behalf of Barchester Healthcare, you will deliver hotel and restaurant standards of dining while helping residents get the most out of life. You will assist the Head Chef in creating nutritious, flavoursome, and well-balanced menus tailored directly around our residents, bringing your passion for quality and hospitality to a truly rewarding environment.
Key Responsibilities (What You'll Do)
Help manage the kitchen in the Head Chef’s absence.
Cook fresh, seasonal produce to deliver wholesome, high-quality dishes.
Help create a warm, efficient, clean, and fun kitchen environment.
Work effectively within budget constraints and complete regular kitchen audits.
Manage stock control efficiently.
Assist in leading, inspiring, and motivating the catering team.
Candidate Requirements (What You'll Need)
A personable, warm approach with a genuine interest in resident wellbeing.
City & Guilds / NVQ / SVQ (or equivalent professional culinary qualification).
Experience in helping lead and inspire a kitchen team.
A solid understanding of nutrition and working with fresh, seasonal food.
A strong, practical understanding of HACCP guidelines.
The ability to create a warm and welcoming dining atmosphere.
