Delivered in partnership with Ark Teacher Training, this 1-year school-based programme enables you to earn while you learn, graduating with a Level 6 Apprenticeship qualification, Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE), and Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
You will spend the vast majority of your time gaining practical classroom experience, translating pedagogical theory into practice with dedicated 1-on-1 support every step of the way.
100% Salaried – Zero Tuition Fees: Earn £24,444 while training, with all course tuition fees fully covered via the apprenticeship pathway.
Triple Qualification: Graduate with a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE), Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), and a Level 6 Apprenticeship.
Direct Classroom Experience: Teach as an apprentice Computing teacher from day one, progressively building your teaching load and independence throughout the school year.
Personalised Coaching & Mentorship: Guided by a dedicated in-school coach and personal subject tutor who provide weekly feedback, ongoing advice, and tailored career support.
Weekly Collaborative Training: Spend half a day every week attending targeted training sessions alongside fellow trainees across the Ark Teacher Training and Lift Schools networks.
Two-Week Summer School: Launch your journey with a two-week intensive foundation course (2–13 August 2027) covering lesson planning, behaviour management, and core educational theory.

To qualify for this Computing Teacher Apprenticeship, candidates must meet the following criteria:
Degree: An undergraduate degree (2:2 classification or above) completed by the start of the programme. A degree in Computing or a related field is preferred (or a strong A-Level in Computing at Grade C or above).
GCSEs: Grade 4 (C) or higher in GCSE English & Mathematics (or equivalent).
Teaching Status: Must not currently hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
Work Rights: Right to live and work in the UK for the duration of the training year.
