About the Role
Are you an experienced nurse with a passion for international health and preventative care? We are seeking a dedicated Travel Health Nurse to join the occupational health team at TAC Healthcare Group in Aberdeen.
Please note: Due to the specialist service requirements of this role, applicants must already hold recognised travel health training/qualifications and practical travel health experience.
In this vital clinical role, you will deliver a safe, professional, and comprehensive travel health service, assessing individual needs, administering vaccinations, and providing expert, evidence-based advice to international travellers.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive travel health consultations and individual risk assessments.
Provide clear advice on recommended and required vaccinations, malaria prevention, and international health risks.
Administer travel vaccinations and medications safely in line with current clinical guidance and Patient Group Directions (PGDs).
Guide patients on infection prevention, food/water safety, insect-bite avoidance, and managing existing conditions while travelling.
Maintain accurate, confidential clinical records and ensure strict adherence to vaccine cold-chain and storage requirements.
Monitor vaccine stock levels, expiry dates, and collaborate effectively with the wider clinical team.
What We Are Looking For
A Registered Adult Nurse (or equivalent) with a valid NMC registration.
Recognised travel health training or qualification, paired with practical experience delivering travel health consultations and vaccinations.
Strong clinical assessment, decision-making, and communication skills.
Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining accurate records.
Bonus skills: Experience in occupational health, audiometry, spirometry, or nurse-led offshore medical assessments is beneficial but not essential.
