About the Role
We are acting on behalf of Intrahealth Ltd to recruit dedicated and professional Immunisation Nurses to join their dynamic Immunisation Team in Manchester.
As a leading provider of NHS primary and community care services, Intrahealth delivers essential vaccination programmes—including nasal and intramuscular flu vaccines—across community and educational settings. In this role, you will act as a lead clinician during immunisation sessions, working closely alongside administrative staff, school teams, parents, and carers to ensure the safe and effective delivery of public health initiatives in accordance with the Department of Health Green Book.
Key Responsibilities
1. Clinical Practice & Delivery
Provide safe, high-quality delivery of immunisation services, identifying and prioritising care plans tailored to patient needs.
Operate under Patient Group Directions (PGDs) and Patient Specific Directions (PSDs), managing clinical risks such as consent and potential side effects.
Maintain rigorous infection-control measures and adhere strictly to cold chain procedures for the proper storage, rotation, and transportation of vaccines and medications.
2. Leadership & Collaboration
Act as lead clinician during immunisation sessions, coordinating smoothly with school staff and internal administration teams.
Communicate effectively with children, parents, carers, and multidisciplinary colleagues to provide reassurance and professional guidance.
Apply legal policies supporting the safeguarding of children and adults at all times.
3. Governance & Record Keeping
Maintain clear, accurate patient records in full compliance with GDPR guidelines and organizational policies.
Take personal responsibility for continuous professional development (CPD), mandatory training, and keeping up-to-date with research-led immunisation practices.
Person Specification
Essential Criteria
Registration & Qualifications: Current Registered Nurse with active registration on the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC).
Experience & Abilities: Evidence of continuous professional development, with a proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
Attributes: Highly motivated, flexible, enthusiastic, and committed to maintaining high standards of patient care, engagement, and professional representation.
Desirable Criteria
Previous experience working with school-aged children or delivering travel and childhood immunisations.
Level 2 Safeguarding Children training.
Up-to-date training in CPR and anaphylaxis, or foundation immunisation training.
Full UK driving licence with access to a vehicle and a willingness to travel across operational locations.
