About the Role
Are you an experienced property maintenance professional looking for a varied, hands-on role where you can ensure a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for residents and staff alike?
Working as a permanent Head of Maintenance through our supportive bridge staffing agency on behalf of Barchester Healthcare, you will oversee the upkeep of the care home building, gardens, and grounds. From fixing a leaky tap to supporting the General Manager with annual budget planning and managing external contractors, your day will be wonderfully varied—all while putting the safety and comfort of our residents first.
Key Responsibilities (What You'll Do)
Maintain a clean, safe, and well-maintained environment across the building, gardens, and grounds.
Undertake a wide range of property maintenance and repair tasks with sensitivity to residents' needs.
Support the General Manager with annual budget planning and resource management.
Liaise with and manage external contractors for specialist or large-scale jobs.
Work independently as well as lead and support site operations.
Candidate Requirements (What You'll Need)
Hands-on experience in property maintenance with at least one core trade skill.
A reliable, flexible approach to working hours and duties.
Full UK driving licence.
IT literacy and GCSEs in Maths and English (or equivalent qualifications).
A compassionate, resident-focused attitude ensuring all work is carried out respectfully.
