We are currently recruiting a dedicated Duty Manager to join the team at Soar Valley Leisure Centre on behalf of More Leisure Community Trust.
In this vital role, you will help create a safe, welcoming, and high-performing environment for customers, colleagues, and community groups, driving health and wellbeing across the local area.
What You’ll Do
As a Duty Manager, your responsibilities will include:
Operational Oversight: Support the Centre Manager with daily leisure centre operations, taking charge of shift management to ensure a safe, efficient, and welcoming atmosphere.
Standards & Lifeguarding: Lead and support lifeguarding, housekeeping, and facility presentation standards throughout the venue.
Incident Management: Respond effectively to accidents, incidents, and emergencies, carrying out investigations and follow-up actions when required.
Team Development: Support colleague training, inductions, and ongoing performance to maintain top service standards and compliance.
Continuous Improvement: Help drive growth and operational excellence through stock management and rota planning.
What We Are Looking For
Experience: Previous experience in a supervisory or management role within a leisure, hospitality, or customer-facing environment.
Core Skills: Strong leadership, decision-making, and communication skills, with the ability to remain calm and effective in emergencies.
Qualifications: A valid National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ) is essential. A Pool Plant Operator Qualification (PPO) and First Aid at Work certificate are highly desirable.
Vetting and Safeguarding
Due to the nature of this role, an Enhanced DBS check is required, along with the completion of an Occupational Health Questionnaire to ensure appropriate workplace support.
