Job Title: Assistant Chef / 2nd Chef
Location: Oakcroft House Care Home, Oakcroft Road, West Byfleet KT14 6JC
Salary: £21,200 to £23,540 per annum (depending on experience) + £1,000 Welcome Bonus
Contract Type: Permanent, Part-Time (30 hours per week, covering 3 shifts of 7:30 AM – 6:00 PM with alternate weekends)

We are partnering with Oakcroft House Care Home in West Byfleet—a fantastic facility holding a "Good" CQC rating and an outstanding 9.7/10 score on carehome.co.uk—to find a passionate and talented Assistant Chef / 2nd Chef. Set within large landscaped, wheelchair-friendly gardens close to the village centre, Oakcroft House provides nursing, residential, and short-stay care within a vibrant and welcoming community.
As an Assistant Chef through Supportive Bridge, you will bring your passion for fresh food and cooking to help deliver an exceptional dining experience. You will craft varied, nutritional menus tailored to residents' dietary needs, train and manage the kitchen team, and share your love of food to make residents feel right at home.
Key Responsibilities
Use your passion for cooking and fresh ingredients to create varied and nutritional menus tailored to residents' individual dietary needs and preferences.
Put forward innovative ideas to enhance the dining experience and help residents feel completely at home.
Train and manage the kitchen team in the preparation, cooking, and presentation of food.
Adhere strictly to COSHH and HACCP guidelines, company policies, budgets, and stock management for orders and deliveries.
Cater for special events and seasonal activities, such as summer fetes, birthday parties, and Christmas celebrations as required.

Proven experience working in a fresh food kitchen, backed by a genuine passion for cooking and relevant hygiene certificates.
An innovative, open-minded approach to cooking combined with a strong commitment to maintaining high standards.
Excellent communication skills and a caring, approachable nature, enjoying the little moments connecting with residents over great food.
