Supportive Bridge Staffing Agency is partnering with Five Rivers Child Care Ltd to recruit dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistants (HLTAs) for Park House School in Taunton, Somerset. This is a rewarding opportunity to join a specialist, therapeutic learning environment designed for young people aged 8 to 19 with complex Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs who have not thrived in mainstream settings.
Working within a trauma-informed practice model and building upon Thrive principles, you will support teaching and learning both in the classroom and through wider enrichment activities. Because many of our pupils have experienced disrupted educational journeys, your compassionate, reliable approach and focus on relationship-building will be vital in helping them overcome barriers, build confidence, and achieve their full potential.
Learning Support: Support teaching delivery and lead learning sessions across a holistic, personalized curriculum tailored to complex needs.
Therapeutic Environment: Foster a safe, welcoming, and supportive setting where every young person is respected, listened to, and encouraged to develop independence.
Holistic Development: Help pupils re-engage with education, develop emotional resilience, and build essential skills for future education, employment, and life.
Collaboration: Work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team alongside qualified teachers and specialist professionals.
Skills & Abilities: Good written and IT skills, effective communication with children, colleagues, and external professionals, and strong active listening skills.
Approach: Caring, reliable, resilient, and passionate about supporting children with SEMH needs. (Experience in specialist education settings is advantageous, though transferable skills are warmly welcomed.)
