We are currently recruiting on behalf of Medequip Assistive Technology Ltd—the UK’s leading provider of community equipment services to the NHS and local authorities—as they look for an experienced Depot Supervisor to lead their team at the Taunton Depot.
About the Role
As the Depot Supervisor, you will oversee and control the provision of community equipment services in line with agreed performance, financial, and quality targets. You will work closely with the Operations Manager to drive business strategy, profitability, and productivity while maintaining the highest standards of service delivery.
This is a critical leadership role where you will manage warehouse and cleaning teams, oversee stock control and financial administration, promote health and safety, and act as an ambassador for co-production and community engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
Ensure accountancy documentation, administration procedures, and weekly/monthly returns are completed accurately and within budget.
Work with the purchasing team to maintain stock levels and oversee inventory, storage, and monthly stocktakes.
Process, photograph, and upload returned special items to the company database.
Oversee the timely flow of returned stock through pre-cleaning, cleaning, and workshop processes.
Provide HR management for Warehouse and Cleaning teams, ensuring company policies are actively followed.
Promote a strong health and safety culture across the depot.
Attend internal and external stakeholder meetings, championing volunteering and joint working initiatives.
About You
You are a proactive, organized leader who shares Medequip’s core values of integrity, empathy, teamwork, and excellence.
Experience: Previous experience in a similar supervisory or management role is highly desirable.
Skills: Strong IT literacy, exceptional communication skills across diverse audiences, and the ability to manage your own workload without direct supervision.
Personal Qualities: Compassionate, patient, and capable of maintaining a professional, supportive demeanor when handling sensitive situations.
