What Is Required From You?

• Personal Attributes: A genuine interest in supporting children with learning disabilities, patience, resilience, emotional intelligence, and a positive team-player mindset

• Qualifications: Hold or be committed to completing an NVQ Level 3 (or above) in Residential Childcare

• Availability: Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, bank holidays, and part of a sleep-in rota (averaging 4 sleep-ins per month)

• Driving Licence: A driving licence is desirable but not essential

• Vetting Requirements: This role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and is subject to enhanced DBS checks and comprehensive safer recruitment vetting procedures.

• Building Relationships: Fostering trusting, positive connections with children and young people.

• Daily Routines: Assisting with school runs, mealtimes, play, bedtime routines, and teaching essential life skills to build independence.

• Support Plans: Collaborating on care plans, routines, and risk assessments with full training provided.

• Therapeutic Care: Handling challenging behaviour calmly and with empathy using a therapeutic approach.

• Activities: Taking part in fun, active days—because no two days are ever the same!
