We are acting on behalf of ABL Health Ltd—a dynamic, CQC-registered community health organisation dedicated to reducing health inequalities—to recruit a passionate Healthy Lifestyle Advisor for their One You Kent Service.
In this rewarding role, you will bridge evidence-based adult weight management with broader lifestyle behaviour change support. Working within a multidisciplinary team, you will empower adults to lose weight, increase physical activity, improve mental wellbeing, and set realistic, sustainable goals. You will deliver holistic, person-centred interventions across community and digital settings, including 1-to-1 health coaching, structured weight management groups, and healthy diet and cookery programmes.
1. Behaviour Change & Weight Management
Deliver adult weight management programmes and 1-to-1 health coaching across community and digital settings in line with NICE guidance.
Use a client-centred, evidence-based approach incorporating motivational interviewing, positive psychology, and SMART goal setting.
Provide support for individuals who may not yet be ready for structured weight management groups, helping them build motivation and make gradual lifestyle improvements.
2. Community Engagement & Service Delivery
Play an active role in community engagement and partnership working to promote services, drive referrals, and reach hard-to-reach groups.
Contribute to multidisciplinary assessments, care planning, and service development by co-producing materials and submitting case studies.
Maintain accurate records, meet data requirements, and comply with organisational governance standards.
Essential Criteria
Qualifications: Educated to degree level or possessing relevant equivalent experience, alongside a CIMSPA (previously REPS) Level 2 Gym Instructor/Group Exercise award (or equivalent, or willingness to work towards).
Experience: Practical experience delivering group or 1-to-1 behaviour change interventions for adults, implementing health promotion/public health initiatives in community settings, and working with hard-to-reach groups to tackle health inequalities.
Requirements: The ability to travel independently across the organisational footprint, work flexibly (including evenings and weekends as needed), and successfully complete an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
Desirable Criteria
A degree in nutrition (eligible for UKVRN registration), exercise, psychology, public health, or a related field; or a sports coaching qualification.
Prior experience delivering specialist weight management or health interventions to children, young people, and adults.
Join an exciting, fast-growing community health organisation that values its people, encourages innovation and collaboration, and invests heavily in professional development.
Enjoy a supportive, multidisciplinary team environment focused on creating healthier lives and stronger communities.
