Kitchen Assistant (Permanent) — Salisbury, Wiltshire

Position: Permanent Kitchen Assistant

Location: Bourne House (Avonbourne Care Centre), Mitre Way, Old Sarum, Salisbury, SP4 6GW

Pay Rate: £13.01 per hour (Mon–Fri) / £13.41 per hour (Weekends)

Contract Type: Permanent / 30 hours per week (Including working every other weekend)

About the Role

As a Supportive Bridge Staffing Agency, we are proud to partner with this leading not-for-profit provider to find a friendly and dedicated Kitchen Assistant for Bourne House, part of the Avonbourne Care Centre in historic Old Sarum, Salisbury.

Set in an elegant environment offering compassionate, individualised care, Avonbourne Care Centre provides tailored support ranging from residential assistance to specialist nursing and dementia care. Joining our passionate catering team, you will help create delicious meals, snacks, and drinks, ensuring that mealtimes are always a welcoming and memorable highlight of our residents' day.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the catering team in preparing and serving nutritious meals, snacks, and refreshments.

• Maintain exceptional standards of kitchen hygiene, cleanliness, and safety at all times.

• Get to know our residents, learning their individual preferences and dietary needs to ensure a personal dining experience.

• Work collaboratively as part of a warm, supportive extended family team dedicated to resident wellbeing.

What We Are Looking For

• Experience: Formal catering experience is not essential (we provide full training!), though holding a Basic Food Hygiene Certificate is a bonus.

• Attributes: A positive, can-do approach, a passion for food and hygiene, and excellent communication skills.

• Engagement: A friendly, caring manner with the confidence to chat with elderly residents and understand their individual needs.
