We are currently recruiting a dedicated Duty Manager to join the team on behalf of Shropshire Community Leisure Trust at Whitchurch Swimming and Fitness Centre.
In this vital role, you will ensure visitors enjoy a safe, welcoming, and high-quality experience. From overseeing daily operations and supporting team members to responding to emergencies and maintaining top-tier facility standards, your work directly encourages active, healthy lifestyles across the local community.
As a Duty Manager, your responsibilities will include:
Operational Management: Manage day-to-day facility operations, ensuring all activities are delivered safely and to exceptional standards.
Team Leadership: Lead and support colleagues during shifts, coordinate task allocation, and drive outstanding service delivery.
Health & Safety Culture: Champion a strong health and safety culture, ensuring strict compliance with all policies, procedures, and relevant legislation.
Incident Response: Respond confidently and effectively to emergency situations and incidents, taking full control when required.
Performance Monitoring: Monitor facility performance, utilize KPIs and operational data, and contribute to ongoing improvements.
Stakeholder Relations: Build positive, lasting relationships with customers, partners, and community stakeholders.
Relevant Experience: Background working within a leisure, sports, or customer-focused operational environment.
Leadership Skills: Strong organisational and leadership capabilities, with the ability to coordinate teams and prioritise workloads seamlessly.
Problem-Solving: A proactive, decisive approach to resolving issues in a fast-paced environment.
Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills and a deep commitment to customer service excellence.
Industry Qualifications: Willingness to complete or hold relevant certifications, including the National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ), National Pool Plant Operators Certificate, and First Aid at Work.
