Looking for a culinary role working with fresh seasonal food that offers a fantastic work-life balance without the long hours and split shifts? Partnering with Barchester Healthcare, Supportive Bridge Staffing Agency is seeking a qualified, passionate Bank Chef to join the team at Alice Grange Care Home on a casual, flexible basis.
In this role, you will assist the Head Chef in creating nutritious, flavoursome, and well-balanced menus tailored around residents, delivering hotel- and restaurant-standard dining while enjoying true schedule flexibility.
Pay Rate: £18.51 per hour
Hours: Bank / As and when required (Casual flexible role)
Shifts: Days (with alternate weekends)
Closing Date: 8 September 2026
Key Responsibilities
Help manage the kitchen efficiently in the Head Chef’s absence.
Work with fresh seasonal produce to cook wholesome, high-quality dishes meeting top culinary standards.
Assist in leading, mentoring, and motivating the kitchen team.
Collaborate with residents to tailor menus and ensure a person-centred dining experience.
Work within budgets, manage stock control, and complete regular HACCP and kitchen audits.
Help create a warm, efficient, and welcoming environment within the home.
What We Are Looking For
Qualifications: Hold City & Guilds, NVQ/SVQ, or equivalent culinary qualifications.
Experience in working with fresh seasonal food and a good understanding of nutrition and HACCP guidelines.
Experience in helping lead and inspire a kitchen team.
A personable, warm, and motivated approach with a genuine passion for resident wellbeing.
