We are currently recruiting a high-performing Contract Manager to lead the delivery of essential waste, recycling, and street cleansing services across Charnwood from our Mountsorrel Depot.
In this pivotal senior leadership role, you will take total ownership of operational performance, financial management, people leadership, and stakeholder engagement. By driving innovation and efficiency, your work ensures that vital public services continue to run safely and sustainably, positively impacting the local community every day.
What You’ll Do
As a Contract Manager, your responsibilities will include:
Operational Leadership: Oversee the overall performance of the environmental services contract, ensuring safe, efficient, and fully compliant delivery.
Team Management: Lead and inspire operational and supervisory teams, fostering a culture built on trust, care, innovation, and pride.
Financial & Commercial Accountability: Take full accountability for budgets, financial performance, resources, fleet operations, and commercial outcomes.
Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong, productive relationships with local authority stakeholders, trade unions, partners, and community representatives.
Continuous Improvement: Drive strategic growth initiatives, transformational change, and innovative solutions to meet future service challenges.
Health & Safety: Guarantee strict compliance with health, safety, and environmental legislation while championing a proactive safety culture.
What We Are Looking For
Management Experience: Extensive background leading large operational teams within a complex service delivery or contract management setting.
Financial Acumen: Strong financial management capabilities, with a proven track record of managing budgets and hitting commercial performance targets.
Leadership & Change: Demonstrated ability to lead transformational change, build trusted stakeholder relationships, and inspire teams.
Qualifications: A management qualification, degree, or equivalent extensive leadership experience.
Core Commitment: A deep dedication to inclusion, employee development, and creating a thriving workplace culture.
Vetting and Checks
This role requires a Standard DBS check (covering spent and unspent convictions, cautions, reprimands, and warnings under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act), alongside the completion of an Occupational Health Questionnaire.
