Assistant Buyer
Location: Bupa Place, Salford Quays, M50 3SP (Hybrid working, up to 3 days working from home)
Salary: £26,500 to £28,000 per annum (depending on experience) + Fixed term benefits allowance
Contract Type: Fixed-Term Contract (until end of February 2027) | Full-Time (37.5 hours per week)

As an Assistant Buyer at Bupa Place, you will play a vital role supporting sourcing activities across a range of categories within the UK Market Unit. Working alongside experienced Category Specialists and Managers, you will help identify opportunities, conduct market research, support tender processes, and provide valuable commercial insights that ensure Bupa works with trusted partners and achieves strong value for money. Key Responsibilities:
Support sourcing activities, category plan development, market research, and supplier benchmarking across procurement categories.
Assist with supplier selection, tender activities, pre-qualification processes, and commercial reviews.
Prepare procurement reporting dashboards, manage data-driven insights, and coordinate supplier due diligence and documentation.
Maintain supplier and contract records, support contract drafting, and promote procurement best practices across the organization.
Build positive, professional relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders while upholding high standards of ethical conduct.
Essential: Previous experience working in a fast-paced administrative environment (please highlight this in your application).
Advantageous: Prior experience within a buying, procurement, negotiation, or contract administration function.
Strong commercial awareness with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Good communication skills with the ability to clearly explain information and build effective stakeholder relationships.
Strong Microsoft Office skills, confidence working with data and reporting tools, and great attention to detail.
A positive, professional approach with a genuine willingness to learn and develop.
