About the Role

Shape the future of combat air by joining the GCAP Assembly Demonstrator Team! As a staffing partner, Supportive Bridge Staffing Agency is proud to recruit for this exciting Senior Manufacturing Engineer position on behalf of BAE Systems.

Part of the growing FCAS Manufacturing Engineering Team, you will contribute to manufacturing engineering for GCAP and the UK’s national FCAS programme, working closely with international partners in Japan and Italy. In this role, you will translate and analyse build philosophies for alternative assembly processes for a 6th Generation aircraft, helping to plan and deliver demonstrators that de-risk manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Build Philosophy Analysis: Translate and analyse alternative assembly processes for a 6th Gen aircraft, identifying required developments and improvements to address programme risks.

• Process Documentation: Create build process documents to demonstrate manufacturing viability for next-generation combat aircraft.

• Demonstrator Delivery: Collaborate with stakeholders to plan and deliver demonstrators for de-risk activities.

• Digital Engineering & Tooling: Use Siemens NX and Teamcenter to create ME planning, trial assembly and toolset technologies, capture learning, and feed insights back into toolset development.

• Scope Management: Manage your own work scope, schedule, and deliverables within project boundaries while providing regular updates to the wider team.

What We Are Looking For

• Analytical Mindset: Ability to consider the long-term impact of change and evaluate potential barriers to implementing improvements.

• Core Competencies: Solid understanding and practical experience in core manufacturing engineering competencies for planning and delivering products.

• Communication & Facilitation: Good interpersonal skills, capable of building cross-organisational relationships and confidently planning and facilitating workshops with multiple stakeholders.

• Environment Experience: Demonstrated background working within a manufacturing engineering environment.
