As an Inclusive Sport & Disability Coordinator at Stoke Mandeville Stadium, you will play a vital role in creating opportunities for disabled children, young people, and adults to access sport and physical activity in an inclusive, welcoming environment. Working on behalf of Leisure Solutions Community Trust (LSCT), you will support specialized programmes such as SEND Boccia, Visual Impairment Boccia, and Children's Wheelchair Basketball.
This is a purposeful role where you will help build confidence, break down barriers to participation, and establish sustainable pathways into regular sports, carrying forward the proud legacy of inclusive athletics.
Programme Delivery: Plan and deliver engaging, high-quality SEND Boccia, Visual Impairment Boccia, and Children's Wheelchair Basketball sessions.
Coordination & Promotion: Coordinate and promote inclusive sports programmes that drive community participation, accessibility, and long-term growth.
Adaptive Coaching: Adapt coaching methods, communication styles, and equipment dynamically to suit a wide spectrum of participant needs (including physical, sensory, and learning disabilities, neurodiversity, or SEND requirements).
Community Partnerships: Build and maintain productive relationships with schools, colleges, disability organizations, and local community groups.
Pathways & Impact: Develop clear participant progression pathways into regular club sports and competitions while collecting data to measure positive outcomes.
We are looking for an empathetic, energetic communicator with a proven background in inclusive sport delivery and a genuine passion for community empowerment.
Relevant Experience: Proven background delivering sport or physical activity programmes for disabled children, young people, or adults.
SEND Expertise: Direct experience supporting participants with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), physical/sensory disabilities, learning disabilities, or neurodiversity.
Coaching Approach: Strong working knowledge of inclusive coaching principles and participant-centred delivery.
Interpersonal Skills: Outstanding communication skills, paired with an empathetic, encouraging, and collaborative approach.
Vetting Readiness: Successful completion of an Enhanced DBS check (covering spent and unspent convictions under safeguarding guidelines) and an Occupational Health Questionnaire.
Financial Package: Competitive hourly rate of £10.85 to £12.71 per hour.
