Role Overview

We are seeking a motivated, positive, and compassionate Senior Care Assistant to join our night team. In this pivotal leadership role, you will take day-to-day responsibility for running your unit during night hours, supporting clinical duties alongside nurses, and inspiring, developing, and mentoring a close-knit team of Care Assistants.

Key Responsibilities:

• Take day-to-day responsibility for running the unit during night shifts and conducting thorough team handovers.

• Support nurses with clinical duties, including observations, issuing medication, reviewing care plans, and keeping accurate records.

• Drive, manage, train, and supervise a team of Care Assistants so they feel welcomed, supported, and confident.

• Build strong, trusting relationships with residents, their families, and external teams such as GPs and District Nurses.

• Assist residents with a range of personal care duties with dignity, kindness, and respect.

Key Requirements & Qualifications

• Completed or working towards an NVQ Level 3 in Care (full support and training provided if needed).

• Previous experience in a senior care role with a clear understanding of its unique rewards and challenges.

• A positive, collaborative disposition with great interpersonal skills and a passion for leading by example.
