As a Transport Deputy Shift Team Leader at RAF Brize Norton, you will help keep essential military transport operations running smoothly. Working alongside a dedicated team, your leadership and hands-on coordination ensure that critical transport services are delivered safely, legally, and on time.
Operational Coordination: Support the Shift Team Leader with the daily running, supervision, and resource allocation of transport operations.
Driving Duties: Undertake professional driving duties as required to support mission requirements.
Fleet Management & Safety: Follow rigorous procedures for reporting vehicle faults, defects, and breakdowns while promoting a strict, zero-compromise safety-first culture.
Vehicle Scheduling: Allocate trained and qualified personnel to suitable vehicles, ensuring safe, cost-effective scheduling.
Compliance & Legislation: Ensure full adherence to Operator’s Licence requirements, ISO standards, the HASAW Act, COSHH, and relevant transport legislation, escalating any compliance risks immediately.
We are looking for an organized, safety-conscious transport professional with strong leadership qualities and the required driving credentials.
Driving Licences: Full UK Driving Licence with Cat D & C entitlement (C+E is highly desirable), alongside a valid DCPC Licence for the respective categories held.
Airfield Eligibility: Ability to hold a colour perception category of the required standard to enable the issue of an Airfield Driving Permit.
Core Competencies: Strong organizational skills, supervisory capability, and a proactive approach to safety and regulatory compliance.
Vetting Readiness: Prepared to undergo Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) clearance and potential formal Security Clearance (such as CTC or SC), including UK residency checks and an occupational health assessment.
