As a Supportive Bridge Staffing Agency, we are thrilled to partner with Morrisons—one of the UK’s leading supermarket retailers—to find a dynamic, high-performing Operations Manager for their store in Barrow-in-Furness, Cumbria.
As a key leader deputising for the Store Manager, you will oversee end-to-end store operations, ensuring that the store runs smoothly, safely, and profitably. You will foster an inclusive environment where colleagues feel valued, high standards are maintained, and the management team is continuously coached to achieve peak performance.
Operational Excellence: Accountable for the end-to-end process of all store operations, ensuring robust resource planning and brilliant execution of daily routines.
People & Talent Development: Identify, mentor, and build a strong pipeline of leadership talent, empowering managers to stretch their accountability.
Safe & Legal Compliance: Champion health, safety, and food safety standards across all departments, acting as an expert in safe and legal routines.
Commercial Strategy: Contribute to the annual store plan by applying a commercial mindset to maximize performance and surpass sales targets.
Customer & Community Focus: Drive product availability, listen directly to customer feedback, and continuously improve the daily shopping experience.
We are looking for an experienced senior retail professional ready to take on a high-turnover operation.
Experience: Essential retail industry background with proven experience managing a large customer-facing, high-turnover operation (over £150k turnover per week).
Leadership & Coaching: Strong leadership skills with a proven capacity to listen, respond, inspire, and provide constructive coaching.
Collaboration & Trust: Ability to resolve challenges, build trust across the entire store team, and foster a collaborative culture.
Strategic Alignment: Skilled at setting clear objectives that link directly to Morrisons’ core priorities and values.
