Supportive Bridge Staffing Agency is proud to partner with Bradford Council to recruit a highly motivated and detail-oriented Electoral Services Assistant.
Working within City Hall, you will support the administration and organization of elections—including Parliamentary General, District, Parish elections, and Referendums—on behalf of the Returning Officer and Electoral Registration Officer. This is a fantastic opportunity for an organized administrator looking to build a career in local government governance.
As Electoral Services Assistant, you will manage all aspects of the electoral process under strict statutory deadlines while providing exceptional customer service. Key responsibilities include:
Electoral Administration: Working across all aspects of registration and elections within a demanding electoral environment.
Citizen & Member Enquiries: Managing enquiries from citizens and Elected Members efficiently and to a high standard of professional service.
System & Data Management: Developing and utilizing specialized electoral services management systems to process technical information accurately.
Compliance & Legislation: Understanding and accurately applying complex electoral legislation and precise instructions.
We are looking for a resilient, collaborative team player with a positive "can-do" attitude. Essential requirements include:
Proven administrative experience with exceptional attention to detail and strong numeracy skills.
Qualifications Requirement: Minimum of 3 GCSE / O Levels at grades A* - C (including English Language and Mathematics).
Political awareness, sensitivity, tact, diplomacy, and absolute neutrality.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong customer service abilities.
Note: Flexibility to work extended and unsocial hours, Bank Holidays, and weekends during busy electoral periods is a condition of the post.
