Position: Cook / Bank Cook
Location: St Wilfrid's Priory Care Home, 2 London Road, Arundel, West Sussex, BN18 9BZ (Set in a beautiful, unique Grade II listed historic building offering warmth and tranquility)
Pay Rate: £13.62 per hour (Monday–Friday) | £14.02 per hour (Weekends)
Contract Type: Bank / Flexible (0 Hours - Bank hours to cover annual leave and sickness)

As a supportive bridge staffing agency, we are partnering to recruit an experienced and passionate Bank / Relief Cook for St Wilfrid's Priory Care Home in Arundel. Housed within a stunning Grade II listed former priory, our unique home is designed to promote warmth, dignity, and a profound sense of tranquility while providing expert residential and respite care.
As our Cook, you will lead the catering team in delivering delicious, high-quality meals and snacks without the anti-social hours and split shifts often found in other hospitality roles! Nutrition is a key part of our care package, and you will get to know our residents and their families personally, accommodating individual preferences and specialist dietary requirements to ensure every dining experience is exceptional.
Meal Preparation: Prepare, cook, and present nutritious, high-quality meals and snacks, catering to specialist diets and personal preferences.
Nutritional Standards: Oversee kitchen operations with a strong focus on nutrition, food hygiene, and safety regulations.
Resident Engagement: Build friendly relationships with residents and families to understand their likes, dislikes, and individual needs.
Team Collaboration: Work alongside the wider care and catering team to ensure smooth, efficient kitchen operations in a warm environment.
Experience & Qualifications: Previous professional kitchen experience cooking for large groups and catering for specialist diets, backed by a Basic Food Hygiene Certificate (working towards or holding a Level 2 Diploma in Food Production and Cooking is a great bonus!).
Personality: A positive, professional, and enthusiastic individual who takes immense pride in their culinary creations.
Communication: Excellent communication skills with a friendly approach to interacting with elderly residents and colleagues.
Competitive Pay: £13.62 per hour Mon–Fri, increasing to £14.02 per hour on weekends.
