Location: 1 ACE Provision, covering Bristol and Bath areas
Salary: £25,313 - £28,223 per annum (Dependent on Experience)
Contract Type: Full-Time, Term-Time (37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 08:30 AM – 4:30 PM; part-time or compressed hours options also available!)
Are you looking to make a transformative impact on the lives of vulnerable young people? We are seeking a dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our dynamic team at 1 ACE (Another Chance Education) Bristol, operating as a "school without walls" across the Bristol and Bath regions.
In this varied and rewarding outreach role, you will support teachers by working with children and young people who struggle in mainstream or formal education settings. Whether assisting in alternative provisions or delivering 1-to-1 community outreach for students unable to attend traditional classrooms, you will work within a trauma-informed, therapeutic framework to help students unlock their passion for learning and rebuild their confidence.
Deliver tailored educational support and outreach teaching across the Bristol and Bath communities for students who cannot access mainstream school settings.
Assist teachers across alternative education provisions and local Ofsted-registered school environments, following a flexible structure.
Work within a trauma-informed, therapeutic practice model to support emotional wellbeing alongside academic progress.
Help children build trust, resilience, and stability—acting as a consistent, positive mentor in their lives.
Maintain clear electronic records and communicate effectively with colleagues, families, and external professionals.
Experience working within a specialist education provision, alternative setting, or a deep, genuine passion for making a difference.
Good written, IT, and communication skills, with a patient, active-listening approach.
Essential requirements: A valid UK Driving Licence with access to a vehicle, and the Right to Work in the UK.
Empathy, adaptability, and resilience when working with young people who have experienced disrupted care.
