As part of the world-renowned Air Team, you will contribute to legendary platforms and pioneering programs, including the Typhoon, Future Combat Air System (FCAS), Autonomous Systems, and next-generation flight technologies. Role Overview
As a Graduate Air Systems Engineer, you may be deployed into specialized roles encompassing Systems Engineering, Mission Systems, Flight Systems, Electromagnetics, and Test & Evaluation. You will be trusted to deliver critical capabilities to national and international customers while mastering the complexities of schedule, cost, stakeholder management, safety, and environmental considerations. Depending on project needs, this role may also involve UK and international business travel.
Core Duties & Responsibilities
Requirements Management: Elicit, analyze, and manage comprehensive system and stakeholder requirements.
System Specification: Define precise technical specifications to guide cross-functional design and engineering execution.
Research, Design & Development: Contribute to innovative engineering concepts, prototyping, and iterative product refinement.
Systems Modelling & Integration: Build and analyze system models to ensure seamless integration across complex hardware and software architectures.
Qualification, Certification & Acceptance: Support rigorous testing, verification, and validation phases to meet strict defense and aerospace standards.
Product Support: Ensure through-life capability, reliability, and maintenance support for deployed assets.
Key Requirements & Qualifications
Academic Background: Must have obtained, or be predicted to obtain, at least a 2:2 Bachelor’s degree (or a pass at Master's level) in Physics, Mathematics, Aerospace, Technology, Systems, or Engineering.
Working Arrangement: Willingness and capability to work on-site in Warton or Samlesbury 3 to 5 days per week under flexible hybrid arrangements.
Security Clearance: All applicants must achieve, as a minimum, the Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS). Note: Due to strict security and export control restrictions, candidates must meet national identity, birthplace, and residency criteria (typically requiring 5 to 10 years of continuous UK residency for higher national security vetting levels).
