Pay Rate: £13.36 per hour
Job Type: Permanent - Full-Time (Full-time only)
Shift Pattern: 5 days per week (Sunday and Friday off), 06:00 AM to 3:00 PM
About the Role
As a supportive bridge staffing agency, we are proud to partner with Greencore (following their recent combination with Bakkavor) to find dedicated production professionals. Greencore is one of the UK’s leading convenience food creators, employing over 28,000 colleagues across 36 manufacturing sites and 21 distribution depots.
At their Bow facility in East London, a team of around 1,100 colleagues produces high-quality sandwiches, wraps, platters, sub rolls, and baguettes for major UK retailers including Sainsbury’s, Co-op, Asda, and Morrisons. We are currently looking for a reliable Prep Operative to join their busy day-shift preparation team.
Key Responsibilities
Ingredient Preparation: Work within the high-risk preparation area to ensure raw materials and ingredients are handled and prepared to the highest quality standards.
Production Support: Play an essential part in the food production process, ensuring ingredients are ready for sandwiches, wraps, and bakery items.
Physical Tasks: Perform physical tasks requiring manual handling and some heavy lifting.
Quality & Safety: Maintain strict adherence to food safety, hygiene, and health and safety standards while working under pressure.
What We Are Looking For
Experience: Food preparation and handling experience is desirable, with background in a food manufacturing or similar environment preferred.
Skills: Good level of verbal and written literacy and numeracy skills.
Work Ethic: A keen eye for detail, the ability to work under pressure, flexibility, and a strong commitment to safe working practices.
Communication: Able to follow instructions closely, work well with management, and communicate effectively across departments.
