We are currently looking for a skilled and dedicated Carpenter to join the team at Lilleshall National Sports Centre. In this role, you will help maintain the facilities that support sport, wellbeing, and community activity. Your work will have a direct impact on the experience of visitors, athletes, and colleagues, ensuring buildings remain safe, functional, and welcoming every single day.
Repairs & Maintenance: Carry out reactive repairs, fault finding, maintenance, and improvement works across the site’s building fabric and associated facilities.
Preventative Care: Complete planned preventative maintenance (PPM) activities to keep facilities safe, compliant, and fully operational.
Carpentry & Joinery: Undertake specialised carpentry work using a wide range of specialist tools and equipment, including electrical saws and woodworking machinery.
Fire Safety: Perform crucial fire door inspections, repairs, maintenance, and fire-stopping activities.
Safety & Collaboration: Support health and safety initiatives, safe systems of work, and continuous improvement activities, communicating maintenance issues and parts requirements promptly.
Qualifications: Completed a recognised carpentry apprenticeship (or structured training programme) and hold relevant City & Guilds, BTEC, or equivalent carpentry qualifications.
Experience: Practical experience working within a maintenance, facilities, construction, or similar operational environment.
Technical Understanding: A solid grasp of building services and general maintenance practices.
Communication: Strong communication skills, teamwork, and a customer-focused approach.
