About the Role
As a supportive bridge staffing agency, we are proud to partner with Tesco to help candidates connect with fantastic leadership and retail careers. Tesco is currently seeking a confident, driven, and customer-focused Shift Leader to join the temporary team at their Ashdown Rd Express store in Eastleigh.
This is a dynamic, hands-on leadership role offering great variety, teamwork, and everyday challenges. As a Shift Leader, you will be the go-to person for day-to-day store operations, coaching colleagues, and confidently leading the store in the Manager's absence.
Availability & Working Hours
Contracted Hours: 16 hours per week (guaranteed minimum hours, with options to discuss flexibility down to 12 hours if preferred).
Required Availability Window:
Tuesday: 14:00 – 22:00
Saturday: 14:00 – 22:00
Sunday: 14:00 – 22:00

Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership: Lead the team to deliver a great in-store experience, acting as a strong role model and coaching colleagues to perform at their best.
Store Operations: Work across all areas of the store, serving as the go-to person for day-to-day operational queries and confidently leading the store in the Manager's absence.
Relationship Building: Build positive, inclusive relationships that help foster a supportive team environment and ensure every customer's needs are met.
Decision Making & Adaptability: Make balanced, flexible decisions, adapt well to change, and seek continuous opportunities to improve store performance.
What You Will Need
Must be over 18 years old to apply.
Experience working in a team lead or management position in a fast-paced retail environment.
A natural leadership style with a passion for inspiring and motivating teams to deliver outstanding results.
Strong, clear communication skills and the ability to build long-lasting, inclusive relationships.
