Supportive Bridge Staffing Agency is proud to partner with MHA to recruit an enthusiastic and community-focused Community Co-ordinator on a 1-year fixed-term basis for MHA Communities Wakefield.

In this rewarding part-time role, you will coordinate and run a vibrant programme of activities—including local social groups and lunch clubs—designed to reduce isolation and promote wellbeing among older adults across the Wakefield district. Key Responsibilities

• Activity Co-ordination: Plan, organise, and run a diverse programme of community activities, such as lunch clubs, social outings, and befriending support tailored to local needs.

• Service Development: Develop new activities based on community feedback, partnering with external providers (such as local colleges for IT classes or fitness instructors for exercise groups).

• Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong, collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders, volunteers, and participants.

• Administration & Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate records and handle administrative duties using digital packages such as Microsoft Word and Excel.

What You Will Bring

• Passion for Community: A genuine enthusiasm for supporting older people and increasing social inclusion in the local area.

• Organisational Skills: Strong administrative and organisational abilities, with good competency in digital tools (Microsoft Word and Excel).

• Mobility & Accessibility: Due to travel requirements across the district, access to a car is required.

• Specialist Skills (Desirable): Any background knowledge in benefits support, nursing/care, adult education, nutrition, fitness, or music is warmly welcomed!
